Hugo von Rabenau

Hugo von Rabenau (born February 23, 1845 in Görlitz ; † April 24, 1921 there ) was a German teacher and botanist. Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " Rabenau ".

Life

As the son of the Görlitz City Councilor, v. Rabenau at the University of Bern , the University of Leipzig and the Friedrichs University Halle . He fought in the Franco-Prussian War and was active in the Corps Normannia-Halle in 1871 . He finished his studies at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen , which made him Dr. phil. PhD. After years of teaching, he went to the United States for 10 years in 1885 . He worked there as an assistant in chemical laboratories. In 1895 he became curator and in 1901 director of the Senckenberg Museum für Naturkunde Görlitz .
