Hugo von Wiedenfeld

Hugo Ritter von Wiedenfeld (born April 3, 1852 in Vienna , † January 27, 1925 in New York City ) was an Austrian architect .

He came from a Silesian civil servant and entrepreneurial family and was the son of court and court lawyer Eduard von Wiedenfeld († 1892) and Pauline Karnicki (1827-1852). His mother died in childbed on April 7, 1852.

Wiedenfeld studied at the Technical Universities of Vienna and Aachen and then worked for six years as construction manager for the Wiener Union-Baugesellschaft. His work in Vienna includes: a. the Turkish temple and the food research institute (both 1885–87), the insect powder factory Zacherl (1892/93) and in 1894 the Villa Carola on the Kahlenberg . Wiedenfeld was a member of the Künstlerhaus Vienna from 1885 to 1896 .

Wiedenfeld married Wilhelmine Anna Eisler (* 1856) in 1882, but the marriage was divorced again. The couple had the children Erich Hugo (1881–1916), Elsa (* 1883) and Friederike (1885–1948). In addition, Wiedenfeld had an illegitimate son.
