Peabody Awards Jury Comments

Peabody Awards Jury: “The strong testimony of the intricacies of the trade and the cost of human life, including interviews with Chinese doctors who revealed that they were forced to harvest organs from living political prisoners, makes this a harrowing revelation of a diabolical system of forcible organ transplants. "

Peabody Award winners must be unanimously endorsed by the 17 members of the Peabody Board of Jurors.

media

On April 7, 2015, the Special Broadcasting Service's Dateline aired the film and urged the Australian government to take action to end the illicit organ trafficking in China. The Sydney Morning Herald reported that investigations into David Matas and David Kilgour "are pushing the perpetrators to be tried before the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity ."

In 2015, the Chinese Communist Party said it would stop harvesting organs from death row inmates, a statement that director Lee was skeptical of.

On February 18, 2016, 3sat Ausschlacht - organs on order was broadcast, the German version by Human Harvest .

Film companies

The Canadian film companies Principal of Flying Cloud Productions and Mark Media, who collaborated on the documentary, are also involved in other projects, including an extensive investigation into the controversy surrounding the Confucius Institutes .

German version

On February 18, 2016, 3sat broadcast the German version of Human Harvest “Disused - Organs on Order” as part of the documentary series “scobel: Organ trade - The human value”. In the German version, Professor Huige Li from the Johann Gutenberg University in Mainz has his say, explaining the restricted use of organs by criminals sentenced to death and why prisoners of conscience are used as a source of organs. “Cannibalized - Organs Made to Order” served to initiate a discussion in which the trade in human organs was highlighted as a modern variant of slavery, and what reasons could be responsible for the fact that this “particularly brutal form of social Darwinism” could even arise.
