The dungeon Priebus ( Polish Wieża głodowa Przewóz ) is the remnant received a castle in Przewóz (German Priebus ) in Lubusz in Poland .

history

The Priebuser area belonged to Lusatia until around 1210 and then came to the Silesian Piasts . They had a castle built on the banks of the Neisse . Ulrich von Pack is attested as the first castellan in 1260. The town and castle belonged to the Duchy of Glogau until 1319, to Duke Heinrich von Jauer from 1320 to 1346 , then the Pack on Sorau , followed by the Lords of Hakeborn in 1354 . In 1413 Priebus came to the Duchy of Sagan .

The round building made of bricks was part of the former castle complex, which was built by Duke Konrad I of Glogau . The term "hunger tower" goes back to the fact that the Sagan Duke Johann II held his brother Balthasar prisoner in the tower, where he died on July 15, 1472.

The tower stood free on the castle area of about 1200 m², with a diameter of 11 m and a height of 22.5 m.
