The Hunts Creek is a mountain in the Southern Alps on New Zealand 's South Island northwest of Arthur's Pass . It rises on the northern flank of the 1706-meter-high Bijleveld Col , flows northeast in the valley between the mountain ranges of Hunts Ridge and Barron Ridge , turns west at Hunts Creek Hut and, after taking in numerous tributaries, flows after about 12 Kilometers in the Taipo River , which in turn flows into the Karamea River .
