The Hut Point (English for Hüttenspitze ) is a small headland on the Antarctic Ross Island . At the southern end of the Hut Point Peninsula , it is 1.5 km northwest of Cape Armitage .
Participants in the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904), led by British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott, discovered and named them. It is named after the fact that the headland served as the place for the construction of a hut , which was the base camp of the expedition and still exists today.
