Hutzikon is a village in the Swiss municipality of Turbenthal .
geography
Hutzikon is located in the Töss valley between Winterthur and Bauma below the Schauenberg. To the south lies Turbenthal , with which Hutzikon has grown today.
The Chamibach passes the village in the south, the Hutzikerbach runs right through the center.
history
The area around the village was settled by an Alemannic tribe, the Hutzinge, around 400 AD . Turbenthal, on the other hand , was inhabited by Helvetians , i.e. Celts . In the Middle Ages Turbenthal belonged to the county of Kyburg and Hutzikon to the county of Greifensee. As a result, different laws applied, which often led to quarrels.
From the beginning of the 19th century to 1930 Hutzikon was a separate civil parish within the political municipality of Turbenthal. In 1814 the community belonged to the Oberamt Winterthur. The districts of Altmühle, Friedthal, Grund and Girenbad also belong to Hutzikon.
Infrastructure
In Hutzikon there is a school (Hohmatt) and two kindergartens (Gyrenbad and Gassacher). The Schlossberg textile factory is located in Hutzikon and was powered by water from the Töss during the machine revolution .
