Hypochaeris tenuiflora is a species of the genus Hypochaeris in the sunflower family (Asteraceae).

features

Hypochaeris tenuiflora is a perennial rosette hemicryptophyte that reaches heights of 2 to 9 centimeters. The stem is almost bare and has several bract-like scales. The leaves are all in the rosette. They are 15 to 100 millimeters long, linear to spatulate and entire to pinnately lobed. The cups have a diameter of 5 to 9 millimeters. The fruits are 3.5 to 6.5 millimeters long and have short beaks. The cardboard hairs are 4 to 4.5 millimeters long.

The flowering period extends from June to August.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 6.

Occurrence

Hypochaeris tenuiflora is endemic to Crete . The species grows in hedgehog upholstered heather , rocks, rubble and sinkholes in the Lefka Ori and in the Dikti Mountains at altitudes of 1500 to 2400 meters.
