IBSA World Championships

The IBSA World Championships , ( IBSA World Games or IBSA World Championships and Games ), are an international multisport event that takes place every four years and is organized by the International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA). The competitions offer blind and visually impaired people the opportunity to compete in numerous sports, such as blind football , bowling , weightlifting , goalball , judo , athletics , chess , swimming , tandem races and table ball . They were first played in Madrid in 1998.

In some sports, the competitions are part of the qualification process for the Paralympic Games .
