The IGP powder Technik AG with registered office in Kirchberg and operational headquarters in Wil (SG) in Switzerland developed powder coating systems for architectural and industrial applications. The largest Swiss powder coating manufacturer with a market share of 60% was founded in 1968 and is now one of the ten largest powder coating manufacturers in the world for surface finishing.

IGP Pulvertechnik AG and Dold AG belong to the Dold Group . The group of companies is active in the field of high-quality coating solutions.

history

The company, founded in 1968 by five Swiss chemical companies (Dold, Gremolith, Landolt, Mäder, Schoch), is a pioneer in the field of powder coating technology: The first powder coating used in Switzerland for industrial powder coating comes from IGP. The company has helped to determine the manufacturing process and further development of this technology and has contributed to the fact that powder-coated surfaces have found their way into many industries.

Founding years

After the company was founded in 1968, the first production site was set up in Bazenheid in 1969 , at that time as an interest group of 5 Swiss paint manufacturers. In 1972 IG Pulvertechnik Aktiengesellschaft was founded .

New construction and expansion

After the newly constructed company building in the Stelz industrial area , Kirchberg bei Wil, was completed in 1988 , the company moved there. A year later, Curt Christian Dold was appointed Delegate of the Board of Directors. In 1995 IG Pulvertechnik Aktiengesellschaft was renamed IGP IG Pulvertechnik AG . In 1996 Curt Dold took over 100% of the share capital. In the years 1998 to 2000 the IGP group companies were founded in France , Austria , Poland and Germany .

Expansion and expansion

Due to capacity bottlenecks, the area of ​​the production halls was doubled in 2003, the laboratory and quality assurance areas were expanded and a training and education center was created. In 2006 the company was renamed to today's IGP Pulvertechnik AG . In 2007 further IGP group companies were founded in England and Hungary , in 2009 in the Netherlands , 2013 in Sweden and 2014 in the USA . In cooperation with the Zurich University of the Arts and the Winterthur Trade Museum , the exhibition LED - Staging Light and Color was created , which took place from November 8, 2008 to May 3, 2009. An additional extension, which contains the customer service center, administration area and parts of the research and development department, went into operation on October 1, 2009.

In addition to the headquarters in Wil (Switzerland), there are group companies in Germany, Austria, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Poland, Sweden, the United States and the Netherlands. These subsidiaries as well as independent exclusive sales partners and agents supply more than 40 countries with powder coating systems. There are direct sales partners in Estonia , Finland , Lithuania , Romania , Serbia , Bosnia , Slovenia , the Czech Republic / Slovakia and in Belarus .

Training program

In cooperation with Dold AG in Wallisellen and the Association of the Swiss Lacquer and Paint Industry , the Swiss lacquer laboratory technician training was developed, which until then was only common in Germany. In addition, the training courses for clerks , logistics specialists , mechanical engineers and building cleaners are offered. In most cases, those who have been trained are taken on directly.
