The IK Tord is a Swedish football club in Jönköping . He is known for his team that played several seasons in the second division in the 1930s .
history
IK Tord was founded in Jönköping in 1919. Ten years later, the team rose for the first time in the third-class Division 3 Södra Mellansvenska and was able to establish itself in the middle of the table. In the early 1930s, the club narrowly failed several times in the battle for promotion to Division 2 . In 1932 they had a worse goal quotient than the second Motala AIF tied for points and a year later against Husqvarna IF . In the following two years, the team was placed in the front division, but it was not until 1936 that they were promoted to the second division with the relay win.
In Division 2 Östra , IK Tord narrowly missed the march into the Allsvenskan and finished second behind season winner Hammarby IF . As a result, however, it went down again and in 1940, the team behind the tied Finspångs AIK as the table penultimate missed the relegation.
As the season runner-up in Division 3 Södra Mellansvenska , IK Tord missed direct resurgence behind Waggeryds IK . In the following years the team established itself in the midfield of the league, but fell victim to a league reform in 1947 when in the course of a concentration as table sixth, relegation was missed.
1957 succeeded in returning to the third division, which was followed by immediate relegation. Two years later, IK Tord rose again to Division 3 Mellersta Götaland and knew how to surprise as second in the table. In the following years, midfield places, before relegation took place in 1966. In the fourth division, the team did not get beyond the middle of the table. In the 1970s, IK Tord commuted as an elevator team between fourth and fifth level. Towards the end of the decade, the club stabilized in the fourth division and played for promotion to the third division, which came in 1981.
In Division 3 Mellersta Götaland IK Tord reached places in the middle of the table and qualified in 1986 for the now third-class Division 2 Östra . 1989 get only five wins this season in 26 games and the club was relegated again to the fourth division. Four years later, the return in the promotion lap behind Åtvidabergs FF was only just missed and only achieved two more years later. After places in the rear, IK Tord established itself in the top group of the league in the new millennium. In 2004 the team reached only one relegation place and had to relegate to fourth division after two defeats against Tenhults IF .
As second in Division 3 Nordöstra Götaland , IK Tord survived a league reform in the fourth level in 2005 and was assigned to Division 2 Mellersta Götaland . In the meantime, relegated to the fifth division, the club returned to the fourth division at the end of the 2009 season.
