I Am Jerry is a four-piece German-speaking band from Sprockhövel , North Rhine-Westphalia.
history
The band has existed since 2008 and consists of the brothers Julian and Timm Kleinert as well as Feras Kaddoura and Leonard Müller-Klönne. Musically, they are somewhere between indie , electro , rock and hip-hop aesthetics. According to their own statement, they make "the sound that they miss even in Germany". In 2011 they won the Ringrocker Band Contest and so came to an appearance at Rock am Ring . After appearing in front of around 5000 spectators on the club stage, the band fell silent as they went into the studio for the next three years to find their own sound. During this time the change from English to German took place.
I Am Jerry have been under contract with Warner Music since 2014 . In May 2015 they released their debut song Vollkontakt , which was dubbed the “first trashy Kanye West action film adaptation in German” by the alternative magazine Vice and its music branch Noisey. This was followed by another release of the song Alles muss neu , which got a remix with feature guest Olexesh three months later .
On October 5, 2015, they performed at Circus Halligalli . On August 12, 2016, her debut album "Habicht" was released.
In 2016 the band played at countless festivals, including together with Deichkind and Wanda at the Hurricane Festival .
