Iain De Caestecker (born December 29, 1987 in Glasgow , Scotland ) is a Scottish actor .

Life

Iain De Caestecker took part in theater groups at the age of eight. At a young age he shot and directed his own films with his twin sister and brother. He had his first role at the age of ten in the Scottish short film Billy and Zorba, which was shot in Aberdeen .

In Great Britain he had his breakthrough with the television series The Fades, in which he played the lead role. Shortly thereafter, in 2011, he took on the portrayal of young James Herriot in the miniseries Young James Herriot. However, De Caestecker also played more opaque characters in In Fear and Filthy Pig. He had another role in the fantasy thriller Lost River, which was created in collaboration with director Ryan Gosling and premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival . In 2012, he was also cast on the ABC television series Marvel's Agents of SHIELD , which has aired since 2013. There he got the role of Leo Fitz (Agent Fitz). He played here until the end of the series in 2020.
