Ian Thomas (singer, 1997)
Ian Thomas (born April 30, 1997 in Belgium ; full name Ian Thomas Hoelen ) is a Flemish singer who became known through the video platform Youtube with songs by Justin Bieber .
biography
Ian Thomas Hoelen is the son of the Flemish actor Frank Hoelen and the Dutch choreographer Brigitte Derks . The Flemish singer Chris Van Tongelen is his stepfather.
His parents posted a video on YouTube in which Ian sang a Dutch version of Justin Bieber's song "Baby"; so he got the nickname "Flemish Justin Bieber". This is how he was discovered by Universal and taken under contract.
His first single "Baby" reached number 15 in the Flemish charts in spring 2011. He also released his own songs and brought out the album "More Than a Game", which made it into the top ten. With his second album "Diversity" he was able to build on his success two years later, even if he did not reach the chart positions of the predecessor. The single "LaLaLand" was also released in Germany. Ian Thomas had his first single top ten hit in Belgium in the autumn of the same year with the song "Rain".
