I'm accusing is a Canadian thriller directed by John Ketcham that was first seen on television in Canada in 2003. The film is about a young woman who was raped by her doctor under anesthesia. The story is based on a true story.
action
Kimberly Jansen wakes up from her anesthetic and has vague memories of being told by doctor Dr. Darian was raped. She reports him, but his DNA sample does not match the semen in her underpants. However, since she is absolutely certain that he is the culprit and it turns out that no police officer was present when the blood was drawn, Dr. Another sample was taken from Darian. This is also negative and nobody believes Kimberly anymore, which is why she is moving with her little daughter Lizi. When she overhears her daughter's conversation with a friend, she realizes that she can't just give up and she hires the private detective Emmet. Together they try Dr. To get Darian's DNA and also Kimberly tries to find other victims. But it wasn't until she was in Dr. Breaking in Darian's car and finding his DNA on lip balm in it, they can convince the police and prosecutors to reopen the case. But even though the DNA matches this time, there is nothing they can do as the evidence was obtained illegally. Only when there is another victim, who files a complaint, it comes to trial. Dr. Darian does not plead guilty, but says that he put a tube of foreign blood under the skin of his arm in order to falsify the DNA. He is found guilty in the end.
background
The story of the film is based on the true story of Candace Fonagy and Dr. John Schneeberger. First she was approached by Matthew DeJong, who wanted to write down her story out of private interest, and by chance she was contacted shortly afterwards by John Ketcham. Candace and John worked on the project for about two and a half years before it was finally made into a movie. She and Estella Warren met before filming and discussed the character and the realities on which the script was based.
In Canada, the film was first shown on television on November 30, 2003, while in Germany, after its DVD release on January 25, 2005, it was shown for the first time on June 26, 2006 on ZDF .
criticism
"The final resolution of the briefly staged small town drama seems outrageous, [...]"
"Slowly developing (TV) crime thriller entertainment based on an authentic case that dispenses with spectacular action scenes and focuses on the development of a gender struggle."
