Ida Anak Agung Gde Agung
Ida Anak Agung Gde Agung (born July 21, 1921 in Gianyar , Bali , † April 22, 1999 ) was an Indonesian politician and diplomat .
biography
The Ida, who comes from a noble family , was the ruler ( Raja ) of his home region of Gianyar for the first time from 1943 to 1945 .
From December 15, 1947 to December 27, 1949 he was Prime Minister of the State of East Indonesia (Negara Indonesia Timur), a part of the United States of Indonesia , which became part of Indonesia on August 17, 1950.
After the recognition of the sovereignty of Indonesia on 27 December 1949 he was interior minister in the government of President Sukarno and held this position until 6 September 1950. Following this, he entered the diplomatic service and was initially 1951-1953 Ambassador in Belgium and from 1953 to 1955 in France .
Between August 1955 and March 1956 he was then foreign minister in the Sukarno cabinet .
In 1960 Ida Anak Agung Gde Agung was again Raja of Gianyar and held this office until his death. In the meantime, however, he was imprisoned during Sukarno's reign from 1962 to 1966.
After Sukarno's resignation on February 22, 1967, he was appointed ambassador to Austria by his successor as President General Suharto in 1969 and held this office until 1974.
