Ifang Bondi is a music group from the West African state of Gambia . The name means loosely translated "Be yourself" and comes from the Fulani language .

The group around the band leader Badou Jobe, formerly bassist with the Super Eagles , formed in the early 1970s. They initially focused their music on popular music from the western world, later they remembered their African roots and played the style of the Afromanding Sound ; their vocal harmonies were accompanied by kora , guitar and keyboards . Other group members are: Lin Diaw, Juldeh Camara, El Hadj Samb, Momodou Susa, Ebou Gaye, Tafa Ndiaye and Maniaye Diop. Some of them also played together as a Tiramakhan Ensemble .

Her international debut album Gis Gis was released in 1998, which Q magazine wrote as "the best world music album of the year" . Jobe received the KORA All Africa Music Award in the “Best Arranger” category in 1999 for his work on this album .

A tour took her to Germany in 1999, among other places.
