Ignacio Avilés , full name Ignacio Lautaro Avilés Rodríguez , (born May 23, 1992 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

According to his club, the midfielder Avilés, who is 1.82 meters tall, comes from the youth team Danubios. He has been in the squad of the first division club Danubio at least since the Apertura 2011 . For the Montevideans he played 13 games in the Primera División in the 2011/12 season . Until the end of the 2012/13 season, no further assignments have been made since then. In that season, however, he fell first with a meniscus tear on his right knee and after a few games in the Tercera División , in which he had fought his way back to the first division team, with the same injury in his left knee. Also in the Apertura 2013 there is no other first division game to book for him. At the end of October 2013 it was reported that Avilés was in the rehab phase after cruciate ligament surgery. In January 2014, he moved to Miramar Misiones on loan . He completed eight league games (no goal) by the end of the season and was relegated with the club from the Primera División. In July 2014 he joined the second division Villa Española . There he was used 24 times in the Segunda División in the 2014/15 season . In the 2015/16 season he played 18 times, in the 2016 season eight times in the second and first Uruguayan league. He did not score a competitive goal for the club. At the end of February 2017, he was signed by Club Atlético Progreso , where he has played ten second division games in the 2017 season (as of August 12, 2017).

National team

Avilés took part with the Uruguayan U-17 national team at the U-17 South American Championship 2009 in Chile and at the U-17 World Cup 2009 in Nigeria . He has three missions at the U-17 World Cup. In the run-up to the 2012 Summer Olympics, he was also part of the U-23 squad set up by national coach Óscar Tabárez .
