Ignacio Figueras
Ignacio (Nacho) Figueras (born March 4, 1977 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine polo player with a handicap of 6.
Life
Figueras started playing polo at the age of eight. At 17 he played in different locations in Europe, in 1995 he played for Argentina in the polo world championship and achieved second place. In 1999 he went to New York , where he joined the White Birch team, which at the time belonged to Peter Brant and Neil Hirsch, President of the Bridgehampton Polo Club ( Long Island ). He is the captain of the Black Watch team, which he shares with Hirsch.
In September 2009 he was among the 100 best players in the world. Figueras is also known as the David Beckham of polo because of his work as a model and his looks .
He mainly plays in Argentina and the USA . Figueras has been married to ex-model Delfina Blaquier since 2004, with whom he has four children.
Modeling
Figuera's modeling career began for Ralph Lauren in 2000 after he was discovered by photographer Bruce Weber. In 2005 he became the "face" of the Black Label line and from May 2009 he represented the Polo fragrances Polo Black, Polo Blue and Modern Polo Reserve. In June 2009, Vanity Fair readers named him the second most handsome man in the world, behind Robert Pattinson and ahead of Brad Pitt .
