Ignatius Chung Wang
Ignatius Chung Wang ( Chinese 汪中璋 , Pinyin Wāng Zhōngzhāng ; born February 27, 1934 in Beijing ) is auxiliary bishop emeritus in San Francisco .
Life
Ignatius Chung Wang was ordained a priest on July 4, 1959 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in San Francisco and titular bishop of Sitipa on December 13, 2002 . The Archbishop of San Francisco, William Joseph Levada , ordained him episcopal on January 30 of the next year; Co- consecrators were John Charles Wester , Auxiliary Bishop of San Francisco, and Patrick Joseph McGrath , Bishop of San Jose, California .
On May 16, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
