Ignatz Metz

Christoph Igna (t) z Felix Theophilus Metz (born October 10, 1829 in Darmstadt ; † April 19, 1909 ibid) was a Hessian lawyer, politician ( NLP ) and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Ignatz Metz was the son of the general practitioner Dr. Karl August Metz and his wife Anna Barbara , née Bauer. Metz, who was of Catholic faith, remained unmarried.

From 1847 Metz studied law at the University of Gießen and in 1862 was court attorney at the Darmstadt court . In 1880 he was admitted to the bar at the Darmstadt Regional Court and Higher Regional Court. In 1898 he was appointed a secret councilor of justice . He returned his license to practice as a lawyer in 1905.

From 1878 to 1896 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 9 / Lampertheim .
