Ignaz Pamer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ignaz Pamer (born August 27, 1866 in Korneuburg ; † 1957 ) was, after the liberation of Vienna, in 1945 and 1946 police chief and thus head of the Federal Police Directorate Vienna . Pamer had already worked as the central inspector of the (Federal) Security Guard from 1911 to 1923 and had seen four changes in the political system in Austria by 1945. His appointment signaled the connection of the security administration to the time before the Nazi regime, but was short-lived due to his already old age.
