Ignaz Seliger

Ignaz Seliger (born April 30, 1752 in Wölfelsdorf ; † 1812 ibid. In the County of Glatz , Prussia ) was a Silesian , German pastor, archbishop notary and bryologist . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " Seliger ".

He described the mosses Dicranella squarosa and Coscinodon cibrosus , which he discovered in the Sudetes around 1800 .

The genus Seligeria and Sharpiella seligeri were named after him.
