Igor Borisovich Dmitriev

Igor Borissowitsch Dmitrijew ( Russian И́горь Бори́сович Дми́триев , scientific transliteration Igor Borisovič Dmitriev ; born  May 29, 1927 in Leningrad ; †  January 26, 2008 ) was a Russian film and theater actor, who often played characters in aristocratic characters.

Igor Dmitriev was born in Leningrad as the son of a sailor and a ballerina. In 1948 he completed a course at the acting studio of the Chekhov Art Theater in Moscow and from 1949 began to work at the Wera Komissarschewskaja Theater in Leningrad. Between 1967 and 1984 he was also employed by Lenfilm . From 1984 and until his death he played in the Nikolai Akimov Comedy Theater. Dmitrijew worked with directors such as Georgi Towstonogow , Sergei Gerasimow and Jan Frid . He played in more than 120 films, not only in the USSR and Russia, but also in Hungary , Poland , GDR , USA , Morocco and Algeria .

In 1988 he was awarded the title of People's Artist by the RSFSR . Most recently he worked on the radio and read numerous literary works by Leo Tolstoy , Theodore Dreiser , Guy de Maupassant , Émile Zola and Anton Chekhov .
