Ija Alexejewna Arepina
Ija Alexejewna Arepina ( Russian И́я Алексе́евна Аре́пина ; born June 2, 1930 in Ardatow , Mordovia ; † July 24, 2003 in Moscow ) was a Soviet actress.
Life
Arepina attended the Gerasimov Institute for Cinematography from 1947 , which she graduated in 1954. Her teachers included Vasily Vanin and Vladimir Belokurov . From 1954 to 1985 Arepina belonged to the ensemble of the theater-studio of film actors in Moscow.
She was discovered for the film in 1953 and made her screen debut in Степные зори by Leon Saakow . Arepina had her breakthrough as Tonja in Iossif Cheific ' A Big Family (Большая семья). As part of the ensemble at the 1955 Cannes Film Festival, she received the Palme d'Or for Best Actress for her performance .
As a result, she was used "in several roles of young girls with a wide range of emotions", but received fewer and fewer role offers in the 1960s and 1970s. She took her last film role in 1988 in a television production. Arepina died in Moscow in 2003 and was buried in the local Nikolo Archangelskoje cemetery.
