Ikeda ( Japanese 池田 町 , -chō ) was a community in Miyoshi County in Tokushima Prefecture in Japan . Together with other congregations, it was united on March 1, 2006 to form the newly established city of Miyoshi .

location

The village is located on the Yoshino River , and in the interior of Shōdoshima Island . About 10 kilometers upstream from the center is the Koboke Gorge , as well as the Tsurugi San Quasi National Park with the Iya Gorge to the west .

Awa Ikeda Station is on the JR Dosan Line which runs from Takamatsu via Kōchi to Wakai. In Awa Ikeda, the Tokushima line branches off from this line to Tokushima . Important inland roads also run through Ikeda. From west to east this is Road 192 and the Tokushima Highway which replaces the 192 on this section. Road 192 runs from Kawanoe to Mima and on to Tokushima. And from north to south, road 32, which continues south from the highway that comes over the Sento bridge and reaches Ikeda via Kothari . It continues south via Koboke and Oboke to Otoyo where it joins the motorway to Kochi again.
