Ilja Wiederschein (born April 5, 1977 in Berlin ) is a former German national volleyball player .
Ilja Wiederschein was discovered as a nine-year-old in the GDR during a talent search for volleyball. As a teenager, the left-hander played in his hometown at VC Olympia Berlin and from 1996 to 1998 for two years at Moerser SC . Then Ilja Wiederschein returned to Berlin, first to Post Telekom Berlin and from 1999 to SCC Berlin , with which he won the DVV Cup in 2000. He then took part in the European Championship in the Czech Republic with the senior national team , in which he had been active since 1999 . Then he moved within the Bundesliga to VfB Friedrichshafen , with whom he won the double in 2002 and won the DVV Cup again in 2003 and 2004. At the European Championships in Germany , Wiederschein reached seventh place with the national team. In 2004 he moved to the west to evivo Düren , where he was German runner-up three times and initially ended his career in 2010. In 2011 he helped the league competitor A! B! C Titans Berg in vain . Country in relegation battle. He was sporadically available to the Wuppertal team in the second division in 2011/12. After Rückerschein trained various teams at SSF Fortuna Bonn , he became champions of the Regionalliga West as a setter with TuS Mondorf in the 2016/17 season .
Ilja Wiederschein appeared regularly from 2001 to 2009 in the rankings of German volleyball in top positions in the positions pass and serve. He is the older brother of Igor Wiederschein (born March 2, 1980), who played as a setter for VC Markranstädt in the 1st Bundesliga.
