The origin of the river is about 2 km north of downtown Oberstdorf, a little east of the B 19 . Artistic design of the Iller origin

The Oberstdorf artist Walter Kalot created the artwork Illerursprung especially for this location . The artwork is on the right side of the river. Three female beings lie horizontally on top of each other and stretch their heads and arms downstream towards the mouth. The factory initially stood in the Oberstdorf Fugger Park, but in 2005 it found its place here. There is also the relief Birth of the Iller by the same artist .
