Ilonka Breitmeier

Ilonka Breitmeier (* 1953 in Münster ) is a German psychologist, actress , copywriter , composer, musician , painter and author of books for children and young people.

Life

In 1972 she moved to Berlin, where she studied journalism , education and psychology at the Free University of Berlin . After completing her diploma, she trained kindergarten teachers and worked as a one-off assistant with children with behavioral problems. At the same time she learned to play drums and founded the women's rock group Insisters , with which she toured and recorded records for seven years. She composed songs and wrote texts for various bands, later also for television.

When she became pregnant in the early 1990s , she began writing nursery rhymes and stories, and also worked as a commissioned copywriter for various publishers. Her first book was published in 1997, after which 26 picture books, short stories and novels for children and young people were published.

Ilonka Breitmeier, who played the role of Renate Brachvogel in the series Spreepiraten , also worked on the scripts and texts for the songs. She was also seen as a doctor's assistant for some time from the first episode of the RTL soap opera Good Times, Bad Times . Since 1999 she has also been employed as a painter.
