Career

Ilyes Satouri started his esports career with the Blizzard game Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne under the nickname "Sat". Already in Warcraft 3 he was able to book several offline tournament successes in France and has joined the pro gaming team Millenium .

Ilyes Satouri started his career in StarCraft II in September 2010 shortly after the game was officially released. Ilyes first joined the ToY Gaming team before returning to Millenium .

The first internationally known offline tournament in which Stephano took part was the HomeStory Cup III. There he showed himself sovereign in the group stage but was then sent to the Loser Brackets by ThorZaIN and finally eliminated by MC .

Stephano was still present in the Starcraft 2 scene, through appropriate qualifications for u. a. the Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC) 2011 or the Intel Extreme Masters Global Challenge Cologne. In October 2011 Stephano was able to book his first big success by winning the "IGN ProLeague Season 3". Just a week later he was able to win the 2011 ESWC. In both tournaments together, Stephano won $ 56,000 in prize money.

This was followed by some mediocre to modest results at DreamHack Winter 2011, Blizzard Cup 2011 and HomeStory Cup IV before he won the SHOUTcraft Invitational # 4 by TotalBiscuit against ThorZaIN very convincingly . This was the first of many tournaments with smaller prize pools in Europe that he could win. Several tournaments followed in the USA in the spring of 2012. When Stephano won the "Lone Star Clash" against Polt and thus booked an additional prize money of 5,000 US dollars (approx. 4,000 €), he exceeded the mark of 100,000 US dollars. Dollars in accumulated prize money.

In 2012 Stephano left Team Millenium and switched to Team Evil Geniuses .

Play style

Stephano relies heavily on his motor skills, which is also heavily reflected in his multi-tasking . In addition, there is a strong feeling for the opponent's possibilities in the current game situation. This makes Stephano very resistant to tricky tactics ( cheese ) of the opponent.

These advantages make Stephanos particularly strong in the middle phases of the game (approximately between 10:00 and 20:00). In addition, Stephano is assigned a certain strategy to counter a quick second base ( expansion ) of the Protoss breed. The goal is to quickly build up three bases with enough "drones" and then around 11:00 a.m. to reach the maximum possible army size with "roaches" and "zerglings" and to defeat the opponent through continuous attacks, or at least so strongly affect that he only has limited options in later phases of the game.

At the end of his career he popularized a slow and passive style of play in the matchup against Protoss, based on a large number of the "Swarmhost" unit.

backgrounds

Stephano often claims of himself that he is not training much for his upcoming games. Stephano has often received criticism for simply giving up or not showing up at major tournaments. This is in contrast to his very fair behavior during games.

After the Dreamhack Summer in Jönköping, Stephano was removed from the after party by the local authorities because of excessive alcohol consumption and spent the night in a sobering cell.

After the end of his contract with Evil Geniuses he began medical study.
