The nature reserve Im Fort is located in the area of ​​the city of Oberhausen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The area extends northwest of Sterkrade , a district of Oberhausen. The A 3 runs to the west, the L 397 state road to the east and the A 2 to the south . The 409.5 hectare nature reserve (NSG) Hiesfelder Wald extends to the east, the 188 hectare NSG Köllnischer Wald to the southeast and the 80.7 hectare NSG Sterkrader Wald to the south .
