Imogen Stidworthy
Imogen Stidworthy (* 1963 in London , Great Britain ) is a British video and film artist and lives in Amsterdam and Liverpool .
Life
Stidworthy studied from 1992 to 1994 at the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht , Netherlands and from 1984 to 1987 at the West Surrey College of Art and Design in England. Acoustics and language and their physical implementation and relationship to the human body play a central role in the work of Imogen Stidworthy.
In 1996 the artist received the Prix de Rome for film and video in the Netherlands. From 2001 to 2002 she was a scholarship holder at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart . Since 2002 there has been a permanent video installation of her as art in public space ("on the building") - project in Murau in Austria . Imogen Stidworthy was appointed as a participating artist for documenta 12 in 2007 in Kassel . In 2019 her first major solo exhibition will take place in Germany at the Württembergischer Kunstverein in Stuttgart.
