Inés Koebel
Inés Koebel (* 1949 in Bamberg ) is a German literary translator.
Live and act
Since 1986 Koebel has presented numerous German versions of literature from Portuguese and French. Her work, which includes poetry and prose, includes German translations by João Cabral de Melo Neto ( poems ), Mário de Andrade ( Two Acre poems ), Carlos Drummond de Andrade ( The Secretary ), Nélida Piñon , ( I love my husband ), Osman Lins ( The Departure ), Graciliano Ramos ( Memories of Imprisonment ), Haroldo de Campos ( Finismundo: The Last Journey ), Cecília Meireles ( This face in the shadow, this look in the memory and trapped ), Ferreira Gullar ( The Jasmine ) , Carlos Drummond de Andrade ( destruction ), Manuel Bandeira ( melancholy madrigal and dying ), Antônio Torres ( for a bean seedling ).
Koebel has been co-editor and translator of the new edition of Fernando Pessoa's works by Ammann Verlag (Zurich) and S. Fischer Verlag (Frankfurt am Main) since 2005 .
After long periods in Portugal , Brazil , Mozambique , France , Borneo and Poland , she lives in Berlin .
In 2011 Koebel was awarded the Reiner Kunze Prize .
