Ina Praetorius (born 1956 in Karlsruhe ) is a Swiss Protestant theologian and author. Her main topics are feminist ethics and post- patriarchal lifestyle. She co-founded the “Care Revolution” network.

Life

Ina Praetorius studied Protestant theology and German studies in Tübingen , Zurich and Heidelberg from 1975 . From 1983 to 1987 she was research assistant to Hans Ruh at the Institute for Social Ethics at the University of Zurich . In 1992 she did her doctorate at the theological faculty in Heidelberg with a dissertation on anthropology and the image of women in German-speaking Protestant ethics since 1949 ; this after her doctorate at the University of Zurich was rejected. In it, she proved that the authors of ethical textbooks from 1949 to the mid-1980s only meant the bourgeois white man when they wrote about “people”. The book is now part of the basic literature on gender research in Protestant theology.

Ina Praetorius has been working as a freelance writer and speaker since 1987. She had lectureships in theological ethics and guest lectures at the universities of Zurich, Basel, Bern, Friborg, Freiburg im Breisgau and Berlin. She helped initiate the “Care Revolution Network”, founded in 2014. She publishes and gives lectures on the topics of care work , care ethics and business ethics . She is committed to the unconditional basic income .

Ina Praetorius has been married to the Protestant Reformed pastor Hans Jörg Fehle since 1988 . The couple has a daughter and has lived in Wattwil in Switzerland since 2004 .
