Independents 4 Change (I4C, Irish Neamhspleáigh ar son an Athraithe , German: "Independents for change") is a socialist Irish party . She is represented in the European Parliament and was represented in the Irish Parliament ( Dáil Éireann ) until May 2020 .

history

The party was founded in 2014 under the name Independents for Equality Movement . The group ran in 2014 with four candidates in the local elections in Wexford , but without reaching a mandate.

In 2015, the party changed its name to Independents 4 Change and helped found the Right2Change alliance for the 2016 Irish general election . Other parties in the electoral alliance included Sinn Féin and People Before Profit . Right2Change won 32 of the 158 seats, including four I4C MPs: Mick Wallace , Clare Daly , Joan Collins and Tommy Broughan . In Dáil Éireann, I4C formed a parliamentary group with three independent MPs .

In the 2019 European elections , Clare Daly and Mick Wallace were elected to the European Parliament. There they joined the Confederal Group of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left .

In the 2020 Dáil Éireann election , four candidates were run in four constituencies and only Joan Collins was re-elected in her constituency.

In May 2020, Joan Collins left the party and started a new political party called The Right To Change Party (RTOC or Right To Change) .
