Indra Kuldassar (born July 20, 1967 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish singer , presenter and actress who has released records since 1990 and was mainly successful in her adopted country of France , where her songs Misery and Temptation even achieved Top 10 status in 1991.

biography

The daughter of Estonian parents moved to France with her boyfriend Guy Paillard in the 1980s and performed as a dancer in a Paris nightclub . After she was discovered there and received a record deal , she worked with producer Orlando alias Bruno Gigliotti, the brother of the French singer Dalida .

In 1990 the debut single Let's Go Crazy was released , which entered the French charts in January 1991 and reached number 11. Misery and Temptation even made it to number 7 in France in July and December of that year. With Tell Me (17th place) and Gimme What's Real (16th place), Indra, who was also called “Queen of Dance Music” in her adopted country, made it into the French top 20 twice in 1992, while Rescue Me climbed to place in 1993 38.

In 1995 Indra could be heard on Dalida's remix album Comme si j'étais là . She contributed the rap part to the track Jusqu'au bout du rêve . In 1998 she worked for the channel France 3 and moderated some issues of the show Ce soir, je passe à la télé . 1999 saw another chart success when the single Never, Never was number 99 in France for a week. In the same year Indra's record deal ended, she married the model Guy Paillard and moved to Switzerland . In 2000 their son was born.

In 2004 Indra returned to the music business and began singing in French again with Orlando as producer, in order to be played more often on the radio in France. At the beginning of 2005 she had her comeback in the French charts (47th place) and the first and only hit in Switzerland (88th place) with Besoin de vous , a duet with Frédéric Lerner . In June of that year, Oublie moi was the next solo success in France's top 40 (39th place).

In 2006 Indra took part in Je suis une célébrité, sortez-moi de là! , the French version of I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here! , part. Then appeared Sois beau et tais toi and brought her in April to 16th the last hit parade listing for a single one, at the same time the placed Album Indra ranked 63. With more than one million records sold is one of them there among the 500 most successful performers.

In 2009 she worked as an actress alongside Georges Beller , Steevy Boulay and Sonia Dubois in the comedy Ma femme est folle at the Théâtre des Nouveautés in Paris. In 2010 Indra took part in the Dance Machine - La tournée des années 90 tour, which involved various artists who were successful in France in the 1990s, including Gala , Corona , Worlds Apart , Black Box , Larusso, Benny B and others .
