Infested Entrails is an Australian brutal death metal band from Orange that was formed in 2009.

history

The band was formed in 2009 by guitarist Lyndon Southwell, who was joined shortly after by drummer Matthew Budge. Lyndon's cousin Matthew Frame joined the group as a second guitarist, before Josh "Hillbilly" Lear took over bass in the middle of the year. After trying several singers, Adam Justin "AJ" took this position in Herbert 2011. After a few rehearsals, the Srpski EP was recorded at Aftershock Records in Orange in the middle of the year and in October the first local appearances followed together with Lynchmada, Deprivation and Synthetic Breed . After further local appearances, the band was seen in Sydney , where they played at the East West Death Grind Fest . She was also the opening act for Macabre in 2012 . In 2011 and 2012 the band performed live in Sydney, the Australian Capital Territory and regional New South Wales and performed with bands such as Red Bee, Grannyfist , Demon Foetal Harvest, Exekute and King Parrot . In mid-2012 bassist Lear left the group for personal reasons and was replaced shortly after by Nathan "Attak" Barrow. In November the band went to The Brain Studio in Sydney to record the debut album Defiling a Piece of the Deceased . The recordings, under the direction of Clayton Segelov, stretched over two weeks. In the following twelve months, additional performances were held in Sydney, regional New South Wales, Canberra and Orange. An appearance was broadcast on TV in Australia and New Zealand . In 2013 Andrew Shiells was bassist in the band for a few concerts, but they separated from him again. At the end of the year Herbert decided to move to Queensland , so the band was now without a singer. Jordan Giblett came in as a replacement. This was followed by further concerts and the release of the album via Grindhead Records in 2014. The release was followed by a small tour of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

style

Brian Giffin assigned the band to Brutal Death Metal in his Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal . Megan McMillan of metal-temple.com noted that on Defiling a Piece of the Deceased modern, brutal death metal is contained, each song IN QUESTION of a controversial issue. The songs are dark, they lack melody and originality. The album was reviewed by Sarjoo Devani on explicitlyintense.com : The group is very brutal and even surpasses genre colleagues such as Cannibal Corpse , Disgorge and Pathology . In addition to the bands mentioned, echoes of Pyaemia can also be heard.
