Inge Mager

Inge Mager (born December 11, 1940 in Honigfelde ) is a German church historian .

Life

From 1960 to 1966 she studied Protestant theology in Berlin , Tübingen and Göttingen . After the 1st theological exam in 1966 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover and her theological doctorate in 1969 in Göttingen, she passed the 2nd theological exam in 1979 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover. After her theological habilitation in 1986 and venia legendi in the subject of church history in Göttingen, she was appointed to the chair for Church history in Lower Saxony in Göttingen in 1987. After ordination in 1990 at the University Church of Göttingen , she was appointed to the Chair for Church and Dogma History in Hamburg in 1993 . She was released in 2003. She has been married for ten years since 1967 and has three grown children.

Its focus is on the 16th and 17th centuries ( Reformation , Late Reformation , confessional age ). Other interests include Protestant hymnology and historical women's studies. Coming from the history of the territorial church in Lower Saxony, it tries to achieve greater vibrancy and clarity through concretions and details. In addition to the conventional factors influencing church history, she is particularly interested in working out the human factors in church history. It publishes the yearbook of the Society for Church History of Lower Saxony and the studies of Church history in Lower Saxony. She is co-editor of the works on the church history of Hamburg. She wrote several articles in the Biographisch-Bibliographisches Kirchenlexikon (BBKL).
