Inge Velte

Inge Martha Velte (born November 7, 1936 in Mörfelden ) is a Hessian politician ( CDU ). Until 2003 she was a member of the Hessian state parliament .

politics

Inge Velte has been a member of the CDU since 1969. From 1975 to 1987 she was the full-time managing director of the CDU district association Groß-Gerau . She was district chairwoman of the Groß-Gerau women's union (1974–1987) and a member of the state board of the CDU Hessen's medium-sized business association (1975–1981). After moving to Erbach , she was deputy from 1988 to 1990 and chairwoman of the CDU district association Odenwaldkreis from 1990 to 2000 . From 1990 to 2004 Inge Velte was a member of the CDU state executive.

In terms of local politics, she worked as a city councilor in Rüsselsheim (1975–1977) and as a district councilor for the Groß-Gerau district council (1977–1987). Between 1989 and 2006 Inge Velte was a member of the district assembly of the Odenwaldkreis, from 1989 to 2000 as deputy and 2000 to 2006 as parliamentary group leader of the CDU.

From 1987 to 2003 Inge Velte was a member of the Hessian state parliament for four electoral terms, including between 1993 and 2003 as deputy chairwoman of the CDU parliamentary group. She was the parliamentary group's spokesperson for women's policy, chairwoman of the working group on women, labor and social order and the parliamentary group's spokesperson for special schools.

In 1994 she was a member of the 10th and 1999 of the 11th Federal Assembly .

Other offices

From 1977 to 1987 Inge Velte worked on a voluntary basis as a lay judge at the Darmstadt juvenile lay judge's court, was an honorary judge at the Darmstadt Administrative Court, assessor in the chamber for conscientious objectors in Darmstadt and assessor in the hearing committee of the Groß-Gerau district. Inge Velte has been a member of the board of the office for civic women’s work without interruption since 1987.

Furthermore, she has been chairwoman of the association of former Hessian state parliament members since 2003. She also holds honorary posts as chairwoman of the advisory board of the Odenwald Foundation and chairwoman of the German Ivory Museum in Erbach. Since 2007 she has been the deputy patient advocate at the health center of the Odenwaldkreis.

Private

Inge Velte is Protestant and has a son and a daughter as well as three grandchildren.

Awards

Inge Velte was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 2007 .

She was also awarded the silver plaque of honor of the Odenwaldkreis and the state letter of honor from the state of Hesse.
