Ingeborg Schödl

Ingeborg Schödl (born August 28, 1934 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and book author.

Life

After training as a wholesale clerk, Schödl worked in the marketing department of a German pharmaceutical company. In 1977 she was appointed executive secretary general of the Austrian Catholic Family Association (KFÖ) and was subsequently office manager. From 1978 to 1982 she was editor-in-chief of the association magazine “ehe & familie”. From 1984 to 1987 Schödl was Vice President of the KFÖ. Until 1999 she also worked as a volunteer media expert at the KFÖ. From 1982 until her retirement in 1994 Schödl was editor of the church newspaper of the Archdiocese of Vienna .

She has been married to Alfred Schödl since 1958, with whom she has two children.

ORF

From 1977 to 1999, the KFÖ sent Schödl as a family representative to the listeners 'and viewers' representation (today the public council ) of the ORF. She was the initiator of the Mini-ZIB and campaigned against violence in the media. In 1989 this led to the creation of the “Guidelines for the Representation of Violence and Aggression” on ORF. Schödl worked on numerous media commissions and took part in inquiries, specialist conferences and symposia at home and abroad (ZDF and SRG).

Caritas Socialis

Schödl campaigned for the social pioneer and social politician Hildegard Burjan , who founded the sister community Caritas Socialis in 1919 . By decree of November 23, 2000 by the Roman Congregazione delle Cause di Santi , she was appointed vice postulator in the ongoing beatification proceedings. Hildegard Burjan was beatified on January 29, 2012.
