Inger Lise Gjørv

Inger Lise Gjørv , née Strand (born May 26, 1938 in Oslo , † March 28, 2009 in Trondheim ) was a Norwegian politician and member of the Ap .

Gjørv, daughter of the doctor Sverre Strand (1906–1992) and the housewife Liv Alnæs (1912–2005), first became a teacher of history, Norwegian and French. She studied at the University of Oslo until 1962 . From 1963 to 1977 she was a teacher at Steinkjer grammar school . Between 1975 and 1979 she was a member of Inderøy's local parliament . Between 1976 and 1981 she was cultural consultant in Fylke Nord-Trøndelag . At that time she was an active opponent of the European Union , later in the peace movement and the anti-atomic bomb movement.

From 1977 to 1993 she was the first female member of the Storting for the province of North Trøndelag. From October 1989 she was the president of the Odelsting , which is one of the former chambers of parliament. From 1993 to 2008 she was Fylkesmann of Nord-Trøndelag, after it was selected in 1991 to do so by the government. She died after a long period of cancer in St. Olavs Hospital in Trondheim.
