Ingo Appé

Ingo Appé (born February 8, 1957 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). He has been the mayor of Ferlach since 2002 and a member of the Federal Council sent by the Carinthian state parliament since April 2018 . From January 1 to June 30, 2019, he was President of the Federal Council .

Life

After primary school in Ferlach, Ingo Appé attended secondary school and commercial academy in Klagenfurt , where he graduated in 1978 . After his military service , he worked as an IT operator and from 1980 as a clerk in the health sector in the departments subordinate to the Federal Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs . In 2014 he was appointed to the government council.

Since 1982 he has been a member of State Section VII of the Public Service Union (GÖD) Carinthia. Since 2000 he has acted as city party chairman of the SPÖ Ferlach, where he has been mayor since November 8, 2002. In 2016 he became district party chairman of the SPÖ Klagenfurt-Land and a member of the state party committee of the SPÖ Carinthia. After the state elections in Carinthia in 2018 , he has been a member of the Federal Council delegated by the Carinthian state parliament in the 32nd legislative period since April 12, 2018 , where he is a member of the Committee on Education, Art and Culture, the Equal Treatment Committee, the Children's Rights Committee, the Finance Committee and the Health Committee.

In the first half of 2019 he acted as President of the Federal Council .
