List of Members of the Carinthian State Parliament (32nd legislative period)
This list of members of the Carinthian state parliament (32nd legislative period) lists the members of the Carinthian state parliament in the 32nd legislative period (from 2018).
history
After the state elections in 2018 , after counting the voting cards, 18 of the 36 seats went to the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ), which achieved the best result since the state election in 1984 (51.65%) with 47.94 percent of the votes (51.65 percent) and thus four seats compared to 2013 . The second strongest party was the Freedom Party (FPÖ), which was able to win three seats and thus got nine seats. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) won a mandate. The Carinthia (TK) team achieved three mandates, in 2013 the then Stronach Kärnten (TS) team was represented with four mandates, a decrease of one mandate. The Green Carinthia (GRÜNE), which had previously been represented with five mandates in the state parliament, did not make it, as did the Alliance Future Austria (BZÖ), which was represented with two mandates.
18 of the 36 members of the previous legislative period did not stand for election in the 2018 state parliament elections, including the second state parliament president Rudolf Schober , who is taking his leave after 19 years in the state parliament.
The constituent meeting of the Carinthian state parliament with the election and inauguration of the state government Kaiser II took place on April 12, 2018.
For the later members of the government Martin Gruber (ÖVP), Peter Kaiser (SPÖ), Schaunig Gaby (SPÖ) and Beate Prettner (SPÖ), who were initially sworn in as members of the state parliament, the members David Redecsy (SPÖ) and Stefan Sandrieser moved after they waived their mandate (SPÖ), Christof Seymann (SPÖ) and Johann Weber (ÖVP).

Federal Councilors
After the voting cards were counted, a Federal Council mandate was transferred from the ÖVP to the SPÖ. Thus, of the total of four Carinthian mandates in the regional chamber, three went to the SPÖ (plus one) and one to the FPÖ, the ÖVP lost its previous mandate. The Carinthian FPÖ mandate was last held by the non-attached Jutta Arztmann , who had left the FPÖ. In addition to Günther Novak, the SPÖ sent Ferlach's mayor Ingo Appé and the candidate from the pensioners' association Gerhard Leitner to the Federal Council, while the previous Federal Councilor Ana Blatnik moved to the state parliament. Christian Poglitsch (ÖVP) left the Federal Council. Josef Ofner joined the Federal Council for the FPÖ . With the three federal councilors from Carinthia, the SPÖ parliamentary group in the federal council has 21 seats, more than a third of the total of 61 seats. The SPÖ could thus block decisions by the federal government in the Bundesrat. After Gerhard Leitner's death in May 2020, his Federal Council mandate went to Nicole Riepl .
