Herbert Gaggl

Herbert Gaggl (born July 30, 1955 ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). He has been mayor of the Carinthian municipality of Moosburg since 1991 and has also been a member of the Carinthian state parliament since March 2013 .

education and profession

Gaggl attended elementary and secondary school in Moosburg and then graduated from commercial school. As a result, he began training as a communications engineer and also passed the master's examination in this profession. He also completed training as an X-ray specialist and training as a sales manager.

Politics and function

Gaggl moved into the municipality of Moosburg for the first time in 1985 and acted as chairman of the club of the ÖVP municipal councils from 1987 to 1991. In 1989, Gaggl was elected parish party chairman of the Austrian People's Party in Moosburg and from 1990 to 1991 he held the office of Vice Mayor of Moosburg. In 1991 he took over the office of mayor of the municipality. In 1995 he became chairman of the Moosburg-Pörtschach-Techelsberg recycling center and between 1997 and 2003 he was chairman of the Klagenfurt-Land school community association. He was also the founding managing director of the Wörthersee Tourismus Gesellschaft and in 2009 became chairman of the Klagenfurt administrative association. Within the party he was active from 2009 to 2012 as deputy district party chairman of the ÖVP-Klagenfurt Land. In 2012 he took over the office of ÖVP district party chairman for Klagenfurt-Land. Gaggl ran for the 2013 state elections in the Klagenfurt-Stadt and Klagenfurt-Land constituencies. Herbert Gaggl was sworn in as a member of the state parliament in the Carinthian state parliament on March 28, 2013. He is a member of the committee for hunting, animal welfare, nature, national and biosphere parks as well as a member of the incompatibility committee.

Private

Gaggl is married and has three children.
