Hartmut Prasch

Hartmut Prasch (born June 22, 1961 in Spittal an der Drau ) is an Austrian folklorist , cultural manager and politician ( Team Carinthia , formerly Team Stronach and Social Democratic Party of Austria ). From 1997 to 2013 he was a city councilor (from 2003 also deputy mayor) in Spittal an der Drau. Since March 2013 Prasch has been a member of the Carinthian state parliament . There he was club chairman of the Stronach team. Since April 2018 he has been deputy chairman of the interest group (IG) Team Carinthia in the state parliament.

Life

Prasch attended the Bundesrealgymnasium Spittal and passed the Matura there in 1979. In 1980, he began a study of European ethnology , folklore , German and philosophy at the University of Innsbruck , which he in 1985 with the graduation to the Dr. phil. completed. From 1985 to 1999 he was a lecturer at the Universities of Innsbruck , Klagenfurt , Graz and Vienna . In 1987 he became director of the Museum for Folk Culture in Spittal.

From 1997 he was the SPÖ city councilor of the municipality of Spittal an der Drau, initially responsible for the areas of culture and youth, and since 2003 for finances and culture. From 2003 he was also Vice Mayor. When Spittal's mayor Gerhard Köfer switched from the SPÖ to the Stronach team in the summer of 2012 , Prasch and other city and local councilors joined him. Prasch ran for the Stronach team in the Carinthian state elections in 2013 on list number 2 in constituency 4 (West Carinthia) and will represent it as a member of the state parliament and club chairman from March 2013. Both Köfer (who moved into the state government for the TS) and Prasch resigned from their offices in Spittal after the election.
