Franz Pirolt

Franz Pirolt (born September 14, 1961 in St. Veit an der Glan , Carinthia ) is an Austrian politician. He has been the mayor of the city of Strasbourg since 2009 and a member of the Austrian Federal Council for the FPÖ and FPK in Carinthia since 2011 .

career

After completing compulsory school, Pirolt graduated from the office school in St. Georgen am Längsee Abbey and then went into agricultural training, which he completed with a master craftsman's certificate. The military service was served as a pioneer in the Villach Hensel barracks.

His political career began in December 2001 as Deputy Mayor of the City of Strasbourg. Gernot Rumpold's father Karl Rumpold made his position available and thus became a political foster father.

Pirolt was elected mayor of Strasbourg in 2009, succeeding his predecessor and parliamentary group colleague Ferdinand Wachernig, who headed Strasbourg as mayor for over 18 years.

In April 2011, Pirolt was elected to the Federal Council mandate of Peter Zwanziger, who moved from Vienna to the Carinthian state parliament after Manfred Stromberger made his state parliament mandate available due to the so-called Connect affair .
