Günter Leikam

Günter Leikam (born October 23, 1966 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and regional manager of the ASKÖ- Carinthia. He has been a member of the Carinthian state parliament since 2011 .

Günter Leikam was born in 1966 as the son of the later politician and sports official Anton Leikam . Accordingly, he was involved early on in sports clubs and social democratic youth organizations. In 1991 Leikam became a member of the municipal council of the city of St. Veit an der Glan, at that time the youngest councilor . He served as chairman of the finance and tourism committee from 1992 to 2003 and was elected to the city council for finance, sport and youth in 2003. Between 2009 and July 2011 he worked as Vice Mayor of the city of St. Veit, before he succeeded Hans-Peter Schlagholz as a member of parliament on July 7, 2011 .

Leikam is married and has two daughters.
