List of members of the Carinthian state parliament (22nd legislative period)
This list of members of the Carinthian state parliament (22nd legislative period) lists all members of the Carinthian state parliament in the 22nd legislative period. The legislative period lasted from the constituent session of the Landtag on March 20, 1970 to the inauguration of the subsequent Landtag in the 23rd legislative period on March 19, 1975.
After the state elections in 1970 , 20 of the 36 seats went to the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ), which gained two seats and achieved an absolute majority. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) was able to hold its twelve mandates, while the number of mandates of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) fell by one to 4 mandates. The Communists and Left Socialists (KLS) failed to move back in and lost some of their mandate.
On March 20, 1970, the state parliament elected the Sima II state government , which was succeeded by the Wagner I state government on April 19, 1974 .
Functions
Landtag President
The offices of the President of the Landtag and his two deputies were assigned according to the results of the Landtag election in the proportional system, with no changes compared to the previous legislative period. Rudolf Tillian (SPÖ) took over the office of First President of the State Parliament . Second president was Wolfgang Mayrhofer (ÖVP), third president Hans Pawlik (SPÖ).
Club chairmen
After the state elections, the members of the SPÖ formed the "Club of Socialist State Parliament Members of Carinthia" and elected Leopold Wagner as club chairman and Wilhelm Sereinigg as his deputy. The members of the ÖVP formed the “Landtag Club of Members of the Austrian People's Party” and appointed Stefan Knafl as club chairman and Alois Paulitsch as club chairman deputy. In addition, the FPÖ members formed the “Landtag Club of the Freedom Party of Austria in the Carinthian Landtag”. They elected Wilhelm Kaufmann as club chairman and Hans Wank as his deputy.

Committees
In the constituent state parliament session, it was decided to set up ten committees, each of which had nine members. The number of members had been increased by two members compared to the previous legislative period so that the FPÖ could provide one member per committee. In addition, the SPÖ provided five and the ÖVP three members. The ten committees were the “Legal and Constitutional Committee”, the “Finance Committee”, the “Building Committee”, the “Agriculture and Forestry Committee”, the “School and Local Policy Committee”, the “Social Policy Committee”, the “Committee for the commercial economy ”, the“ minority committee ”, the“ committee for the preparation of the control reports ”and the newly introduced“ structural policy committee ”.
