List of Members of the Carinthian State Parliament (13th legislative period)

This list of members of the Carinthian state parliament (13th legislative period) lists all the members of the Carinthian state parliament in the 13th legislative period. The legislative period began with the constituent session of the state parliament on November 6, 1923 and ended after 43 sessions with the inauguration of the subsequent state parliament on May 21, 1927.

In the state elections in 1923 , the unity list , an electoral alliance made up of the Landbund , the Christian Social Party and the Greater German People's Party (GDVP), won an absolute majority with 24 seats. The Landbund received 10 mandates, the CS 9 mandates and the GDVP 5 mandates. The unified list was able to win four seats over the individual results of the parties in 1921. The Socialist Workers' Party of Austria (SDAP), however, lost four seats and only provided 15 of the 42 seats. In addition, the Party of Carinthian Slovenes (KSS) with two seats and the German National Socialist Workers' Party (DNSAP) with one seat in the state parliament. Both parties were able to maintain their mandate from 1921.

After the deputies had sworn in, the state parliament elected the Schumy state government on November 6, 1923 .

Functions

Landtag President

Has been approved by parliament Franz Fattinger (GDVP) elected First Landtag President, the Office of the Second President had Julius Lukas (SDAP) held. Karl Rokitansky (CS) took over the office of Third President of the State Parliament . The three state parliament presidents were elected in one ballot according to the list voting system, with 25 votes for the nomination of the standard list for Fattinger and Rokitansky and 15 votes for the nomination of the SDAP. Two ballot papers were left blank in the election.

Club chairmen

The members elected via the unified list united in the state parliament to form the “Landtag Club of the Carinthian Unity List” and elected Ferdinand Kernmaier (LB) as club chairman, Franz Reinprecht (CS) as second club chairman and Fritz Dörflinger (GDVP) as third club chairman. The SDAP MPs again formed the “Social Democratic Club” and appointed August Neutzler as club chairman , while Franz Pichler-Mandorf took over the function of second chairman. In addition, the members of the SDAP elected Hans Lagger to replace Neutzler and Matthias Zeinitzer to replace Lagger.

Committees

After the constitution of the state parliament, the state parliament formed five committees. These were the Finance Committee, the Constitutional Committee, the Legal Committee, the Agriculture and Economics Committee, and the Building Committee.
