Josef Gritschacher
Josef Gritschacher (born May 1, 1883 in St. Peter in Holz , Carinthia ; † May 25, 1963 ibid) was an Austrian politician of the Christian Social Party (CSP) and later the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP).
education and profession
After attending eight classes in elementary school , he completed a three-year commercial apprenticeship. He then joined the family business and later took it over. He was a farmer , merchant and innkeeper . In 1952 he became a commercial councilor .
Political functions
- 1911: Member of the Municipal Council of Lendorf
- 1919: Vice Mayor of Lendorf
- 1921–1927: Member of the Carinthian Landtag ( 12th and 13th legislative period)
- 1934–1938: Member of the Federal Economic Council
He was also district party chairman of the ÖVP Spittal an der Drau .
Political mandates
- May 18, 1927 to October 1, 1930: Member of the National Council ( III legislative period ), CSP
- December 2, 1930 to May 2, 1934: Member of the National Council ( IV legislative period ), CSP
Others
Josef Gritschacher was imprisoned several times from 1938. In 1944 he survived the Dachau concentration camp .
